Fazenda

Manchester

Lighting played a big part in this project, with the Fazenda group engaging our restaurant interior design services to add a vibrant and playful energy to their industrial dining space. In an effort to create a quirky and modern dining space, we mixed a variety of different materials, textures, and features to separate the restaurant into relaxed and more formal dining areas – with lighting becoming both a necessary addition towards the back of the restaurant and a core part of the design.

The Manchester Fazenda restaurant site benefits from floor to ceiling windows at the front of the restaurant, with no natural lighting towards the back. Because of this, we played into the idea of the front section as home to a large bar area and a relaxed and alfresco dining vibe, while the back of the restaurant is where you can find the main dining space as well as 3 individual private dining rooms.

The bar is of particular aesthetic interest in this project, with the team using our contacts to source a bar with backlighting around the exterior of the structure. This, paired with the modern candelabras which hang from the ceiling and feature a multitude of different sized automatic candles, creates mood lighting for a deliberately intimate atmosphere.

As the restaurant is located inside an industrial building, we decided as part of our restaurant interior services to source features and design elements which complimented this structure – leaning heavily on black metal, wood, and tarnished bronzed metal elements to bring the overall design to life. This, paired with a modern pebble dashed effect on some of the walls, transforms the otherwise quite dark space into an immersive and atmospheric dining experience – and that’s before you focus on the wine as becoming a core feature in the design.

As a final touch, the team at Fazenda wanted to really highlight their wine offering within the design and creation of the restaurant, and so different areas of the restaurant are separated by open sided wine racks for that authentic, elegant finish. Proof that anything and everything can become part of your restaurant design.
